YES!  Thanks to the generosity of the Maine State Library, WebJunction Maine offers free online continuing education courses for Maine library staff who are registered users. To the right you'll find a wide array of courses. You'll also notice that once you login, these courses are priced at $0! (If not, use "Feedback" - right side lower - for help).
 
In these days of very tight budgets, everyone loves the word "free," but please keep in mind that the Maine State Library is paying for these courses.  Each time you enroll in a course, the cost of the course is deducted from the Maine State Library's pre-paid account. So we encourage you to follow these simple guidelines: 
  • Make sure you are logged in and the course price is zero.
  • Take only 1 course at a time.
  • Read all course descriptions and expectations prior choosing "Add to Cart".
  • Try to complete courses in a timely fashion.
  • Enjoy learning online!

WebJunction Maine free online courses are available to public, school, academic and special library staff who are registered with WebJunction Maine. 

Library directors may use their discretion to allow volunteers and trustees to register at WebJunction Maine and take courses to benefit the library. 

These courses are for library staff – not patrons or teachers. The money funding these courses is designated for library staff professional development and continuing education.
